Did you know that Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) is the busiest day for the plumbers?
As you prepare and decorate your house, make sure that you follow our guide on how to avoid Thanksgiving plumbing problems. Trust us, your family and friends will thank you!
1. Toilet
Can you imagine something more embarrassing than a clogged toilet stealing a spotlight from your perfectly set dinner table? Follow these simple steps in A Little Guide to Toilet Maintenance by DIY mother for a quick check on all of your toilets.
2. Shower
Some of your family members are staying overnight, and they will be using your guest bathroom. You have followed the above directions for the toilet maintenance; now it is time to check the shower. To prevent clogging, clean your drain from trapped hair and debris and place a drain strainers over the shower drain. Check the shower head for any hard water buildups that would lower the water pressure. To remove the buildup, soak the shower head in vinegar. Use a small brush to free up the stubborn deposits.
3. Garbage Disposal
You should keep your garbage disposal clean and free of smelly odors at all times. You can follow an excellent guide from Angie’s list on How to Clean a Garbage Disposal That Smells. Garbage disposal is an excellent assistant in the kitchen, but it should never replace your trash can.
Check for the signs that it might be a good time to replace your old garbage disposal.
